My youngest sister is the star pitcher on her softball team. I watched her pitch a perfect inning last Thursday. What has your little sister done lately?
I made stuffed peppers with Gracie on Saturday evening. We didn’t exactly follow a recipe, or have a theme, we just used all of the veggies Grace picked up from the organic farm she works at / the Farmers Market in West Frederick. Pepper jack cheese on top!
Yesterday, after I got home from work, my mother and I took a couple of baskets down into our backyard and filled them with big, juicy, ripe blueberries from the blueberry bushes the previous owners of our home planted (they planted various other fruit-bearing trees, bushes, etc. which did not fair as well under our inexperienced care). Our baskets brimming with berries, we set out to make blueberry crumb bars in true mother-daughter summertime evening fashion. It is so much easier than making a pie, and oh my goodness were they delicious. Click through for the recipe — I promise you they won’t last long if your family is anything like mine.
